Safe Internet for Parents

The first line of defense for any computer should be DNS. DNS, domain naming service, is the way computers find sites on the internet. Some of the latest issues with security have come by DNS poising. This has enabled unscrupulous people to control what sites are displayed when you try to navigate somewhere with your browser. So the first option should be to have reliable DNS. I use OpenDNS. With OpenDNS I can filter nefarious sites automatically. OpenDNS also has many other filtering options such as adult and drug site filtering.
